Palliative Care
Our palliative care program, provided under the supervision a Board Certified Palliative Care/Pain Management Physician, is specialized medical care for people living with a serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of the illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the resident and the family.
Palliative Care at Hillside Manor
Palliative care is provided through an interdisciplinary approach by our specially-trained team of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Therapists and other specialists who work in conjunction with the resident’s Primary Care Physician to provide an extra layer of support. Palliative care is based on the needs of the resident, not on the resident’s prognosis. This care is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness.

Improving ability to continue participating in day-to-day activities
Achieving the best possible quality of life
Managing pain and symptom control
Offering a support system to help resident’s families and/or caregivers cope
Helping with identification of treatment options and care goals
Providing education and assistance with advance care planning
